Second finalists

Three hundred people attended second semi-final at Souths Sports Club Acacia Ridge on Sunday 17 August.  There was a diverse range of acts with singers, comedians, a play excerpt, Appalachian Mountain dancing and even a guinea pig appeared!

6 acts were chosen from the 12 semi-finalists to go through to the Grand Final.

Keith Wilson, filled the room with his booming voice singing Grenada. Brian Massey sung the Frank Sinatra classic “One For My Baby”.

Barbara Tyrrell overcame her nerves and impressed the judges and audience with the Billy Holiday classic “How Deep is the Ocean”.

Patricia Newton brought the country to the city with Dolly Parton’s “Coat Of Many Colours”.  The Get Rhythm Dancers (Clog Dancers- not the wooden ones but rather double tap shoes) danced in formation to Hillbilly Shoes.

The wild card was Bill Evans 73 from Manly West – who was unrecognisable as Willamina from Cunnamulla singing  “Country Town Hotel”.
